I hate to agree with a certain comment to this post but the shy female thing is a big turn off for a lot of guys. Especially in an artistic atmosphere such as that in a theater group. He may see her as too young for him. For a guy pushing 40 a 23 year old signifies a lot of off stage drama that he is in no way interested in experiencing. Again. I would suggest that your sister make some subtle moves to let this guy know how she feels about him. Nothing improper or over the top, mind you. This will only scare him away. But clearly, she needs to make the first move. Even then it's just a toss up. The guy could be in a serious relationship. But she needs to be more assertive here. And then let the chips fall where they may.
Is it normal to feel this way when you like someone ?
