Well, if she is "too shy", she might as well give up now. Unless this guy knows she likes him, he probably won't approach her and offer her the information she seeks (is he in a relationship, how old he is, does he even like women that way). Personally I find shy women a bit of a turn off, as even if you approach them you just about need a block and tackle to drag a conversation out of them.
