Is it normal to feel this sickened by racist youtube comments?

Just last night, the thoughts of seeing the extremely racist and genocidal comments that got rated up tormented me for hours until it was almost 2:50 AM. I've seen complete hate speech like "You stupid [racial slur] I hope your race gets wiped off the planet" and "I was happy when [major national disaster] happened to that race", and even using the wrong racial slur to bash a race （like trying to insult Japanese by calling them "chinks" and arabs "niggers"), and even bashing an entire continent for just a few people's actions, and they all get many thumbs up, even top comments. A lot of the time, they're not even trolls. Frankly, the comments almost make me lose faith in humanity, especially when many don't even take action against it because of "freedom of speech", even when the website has rules against it.

    They are called "Youtube Warriors", this kind of creature spends his whole life behind his computer screen, it feeds on "thumbs up", someday it will go instinct because they are all virgins.

    I'm afraid Trolling of this magnitude is quite common on social medias like YouTube.

    And Facebook. Which we are rapidly becoming.

    Yeah, I see and read that shit all of the time. It's no big deal to me because I am white, I am rich and I live in a tucked-away gated community with security guards surrounding the premises at all times...

    But not really.

    It is disturbing because a lot of people actually feel that way. They are really ignorant. Honestly, the best advice is to simply ignore their comments.

    It gets on my nerves too. One of the reasons I prefer Vimeo. Like angel said, if it's your video you could disable or delete those comments. If not, then you could report them.

    personally i don't bother reading youtube comments because sometimes they're just downright dumb trolls anyway.

    I dont know why people bother with the youtube comments section, it's the home of the pathetic troll. I know sometimes people whinge about trolling around here, but this place is pretty tame compared to other parts of the web.
