Yes it is normal to feel like this when depressed! You need to see your doctor and you need to talk to a Psychologist. Psychiatrists hide the depression with meds. A Psychologist helps you figure out why your depressed so you can get off the drug. You have to talk or your on the drugs forever!
Post natal depression is a depression that comes on after you have had a baby. I had it pretty bad with both my children. I mentioned it because you said you had kids and fatigue also fits in with post natal depression. Sometimes it can just be brought on through a chemical imbalance that your body goes through post pregnancy. If it's left untreated though it can just go on and on. I tried not taking the antidepressants for my second child for the first 4 months and as a result it hit me harder and was lots worse until I finally realised. I can truly relate to depression and it is such an aweful thing that you just can't explain to anyone who has never had it. It's that feeling of complete helplessness when you don't know what your bodies doing or who you even are anymore. I just used to feel so low that I couldn't even leave my house and that in itself made me more and more lethargic. The longer you leave it though the worse the anxiety and all that may get. Like I said unless you've had it you don't know what a truly aweful disability it is. Insist to your doctor what you want to happen and when you're there be thinking about your absolute worse day you've had in the last month. They need a good picture of what you're going through. Hun, if you're up for it I hope they give you treatment. Those little pills turned my life around and now I'm off from them and still feeling good.
Good Luck.
I really hope doc will help I've tried doctors before with no results. I just know what happend I've always had depression but worked through it. Now it just seems hopeless. On top of being depressed and being so fatigued I'm having panic attacks. It's crazy like living in a nightmare.
