A person's appearance is part of who he is. Everything we are is physical. Much of our appearance is shaped by our own habits and lifestyle. A person's own perception of their appearance influences their personality profoundly. Every time you look in the mirror, you have changed yourself in some small way. The appreciation of physical beauty is a part of being human. It is not reasonable to expect someone to completely ignore appearance in a relationship.
