Is it normal to feel that I am discriminated on this basis?

  • In my work life, I have never dealt with any crap for not having kids. Socially, however, it is different.

From what I have gathered, if you are a female, all of your worth is vested in whether or not you have used your uterus for reproductive purposes. Without children, as a female, my life will never be complete, I will never know love, self-sacrifice or happiness. Without children, all I could ever be is a self-indulgent heathen. Having a child is the greatest achievement I could ever make, even though reproduction only requires a healthy ovum, able sperm and a hospitable vessel (sometimes, you don't even need that) and just about anyone could do it. But never mind that. It's an achievement. You have to BE someone to use your uterus.

Which is why most of my friends that are Mothers are older women (30+) or married and well established, because they are secure enough with their Motherhood and life positions to not have to put other women down and rub my nose in this "Motherhood is all there is to life" mentality in order to make themselves feel special and saintly. Once a woman does this to me, I walk away and let them complain about how it's "sooooo hard to have friends when u have kids" and "childless women don't understand" and leave them to wonder why all of their childless friends have fucking ditched them.

Ohhh yeah. I'm a huge asshole.
