I am a male without a child, and I've experienced similar things in my employment history. I've noticed that employers will often favour employees (with better pay and / or position) with children.
Insurance companies do this as well. They will give clients who are married persons with children a lower quotation on their insurance premium. They claim that these people are more responsible. This is absolute nonsense. Not only do I have to help pay for their child's education (with little or no say in it), but I also have to pay for their injury in case of an accident.
The person who is most irresponsible, is the one who reproduces beyond the replacement rate, in this overpopulated world.
We need to stop rewarding people for having too many children.
I agree and thank you for mentioning these points. I think people should not only need to be licensed to have children but also pay a deposit per birth of children they decide to have. People should not be rewarded because they simply have a litter, they should be rewarded for raising children from birth to adulthood (usually age 18) and have a TWO parent family. Anyone can have a child, there is no effort in reproducing.
Is it normal to feel that I am discriminated on this basis?
