Is it normal to feel sad/sorry for people you see?

Is it normal that I feel really really down and sad when I see people that are homeless, bullied, lonely etc even thought I don't know them? I literally can't stand to see someone being bullied, it makes me really sad for the person, or if I see a blind person on the street, it makes me feel really guilty and down? Apologies if that sounds insensitive but it just makes me feel like life isnt fair and I hate to see people suffering :( Does anyone else feel like this?

This happens all the time man. I felt so bad for this one old, blind, Asian man eating his food at a restaurant. I just wanted to go over there and give him a hug :[

That's definitely not being insensitive, but do understand that sometimes those people aren't suffering. People sometimes get used to, or are already used to the things that we are forced to live with.

  • I always feel this way! It's like.. You feel.. Why should i be able to see, hear, walk, etc. and they cant? Its just not fair that life has to be harder for them and not me.

Some people are suffering, some aren't. The difficulty is, it's not always easy to tell.

It all depends on how people treat each other. I think the best way to not need to feel sorry for people is to treat everyone with the same respect :). Which, sounds like something you would do :).
