Is it normal to feel sad looking at old users comments?

I see comments on some stories from let's say, 6 years ago. When i see the comments and the users name, I feel a little sad.
I wonder how much those people have changed since then, if they still feel the way they do when they posted the comment, if they are still alive even.
Its the mystery of it, that saddens me. Maybe they had kids, and are married, when six years ago, they could have been very depressed from being single.
I just wish I could catch up with them and see how they are these days.

Is this just creepy? Or is it normal too?

    that sounds like something that would make me feel nauseous and very sentimental. like digging into an old person's past and everything thats changed in their live and how its affected them

    Alot of the ones I know now have families (many of them are in their mid 20s) who finished university and now raising young families much like myself now. It's getting extremely hard to find the time to visit IIN.

    I been an IINer for over 4 years now.
