Is it normal to feel sad for no reason?

This has happened to me occasionally. Out of the blue I just start feeling sad or melancholy. One time I even started crying but there was like no exact reason to it or anything. I also doubt that it is stress cause my life does not seem that stressful to me anyway. It's just kind of an empty feeling I get from time to time. Weird right?

Is It Normal?

  • when you feel sad watch a video or talk to someone or do what ever that you know will make you happy. I sometimes get sad about stupid reasons, especially after I go out drinking with friends. It's totally normal to feel sad sometimes, but when you do just keep yourself occupied

  • depression can form in the happiest of people. it's just a hormonal imbalance, there doesn't have to be a particular reason. i'm married and have a 6 month old son and he is a wonderful, easygoing baby. i have a great life but i also get really upset, sad, guilty feelings for absolutely no reason. i attended a mental health center and they really are amazingg.

  • Same shit has been happening to me man. I just zone out for some reason during the day and feel sad and alone. Can't be stuffed talking to anyone ect both might be a bit depressed or another cause. i can't speak for your cause though sorry.

  • Sounds like depression/bi-polar. Seek professional help, it does wonders, really.
