Is it normal to feel people always look

Is it Normal to think people look at you in public and then you think they are judging you or think you are not acting in a normal way only you are?
An example I go in to a public area let's say a eatery and I feel people will look at me and I then don't like them to hear me speaking to the people or what I'm saying or I speak to quietly when ordering and they can't hear me etc if my partner complains or does something I think is silly I feel embarrassed and try to shhh her while feeling high rate inside. the problem is when I'm at work surrounded by work mates I'm fine while confident while speaking it's as though I feel I can't be myself anywhere else and I'm overcome with a stress or maybe anxiety?

There are people who are judgmental and critical, but very often that's because they're insecure about themselves. Stupidly, they believe that doing others down makes them look better.

As Bob7 says, most of the people you encounter will be far more preoccupied with how they appear and the impression they're making than they are about how you look.

The people you want to spend time with are those who are comfortable in themselves and don't feel the need to scrutinize every little thing you do and make judgments.
