I think I feel the way you do at times because I want more of a deeper intimacy. My friends I can tell most to but my lover knows everything and can share everything just about with you or at least go through it with you like a friend. A lover can also fill your physical like a friend can't because a lover you have future plans connecting you differently than a friend with not the same kind of plans. This is my personal hypothesis.
