Is it normal to feel like your falling when your awake

This has happened at least three times in my life where I'll be sitting in a chair or laying down and suddenly feel like I'm falling I think it's cool cause it keeps me up but the question is is it normal

    yeah, occasionally I will semi-dream, and I'm above some steps, and I just fall. I can't stop it, and the second my head falls on the ground, I wake up.

    Ya I got that every once in awhile once I had a dream were I was falling and I woke up and I still thought I was falling

    yeah i used to have that happen to me a lot as a kid. Its kinda of awesome now that i think about it. I would imagine that i was in my bed falling through clouds.
