Is it normal to feel like you aren't worth the food you eat?

sometimes (not most of the time, but sometimes), i feel like i'm worthless. and that when i eat food, i'm taking in the earths energy and i'm just not good enough to justify that.

have you ever felt this way.

Is It Normal?

  • I sometimes feel unworthy of taking that next big fat crap in the toilet.

I mean?... Who am i... This monster, to do something like that?..

And then just flush it all away like nothing.

  • I think you might suffer from low self esteem. Everyone has to eat.

  • I've done this a few times. I'm a vegetarian so even though I don't eat meat or fish, I still feel like i'm not worth eating salad.

  • Yeah I've felt like that. sometimes I don't feel "real enough" to eat, like its just an act to seem normal or appreciative... I'm on a medication now for similar issues, and often skip days because i feel like I don't "deserve" that either, that its a waste of money to make me feel better...

  • Normal? Not really. Common? Yeah, probably. Anyone who's ever felt massive grief or depression has probably felt this way.

It sounds really corny to say that life is precious and that you absolutely deserve to thrive, but it's true. Every single person walking the face of the planet has a story, some unique perspective on the world that no one else has in quite the same way. You might not change the course of the world, but you do contribute in some way, great or small, to how it runs. You can never truly know how you affect others.

Looking at it from that perspective, you earn the food you eat with every small action you take that ripples outward. Want to feel worthy of what's on your plate? Smile at someone. Say a kind word. Do a good deed. Volunteer for a cause. Work at something you believe in.
