First trips have a chance to be somewhat strange. I've read a few accounts of people reacting differently to Weed the first time they used it.
From what I've researched unusual events are normal, though not quite at the severity you expressed. Perhaps there is something wrong with the type of marijuana you smoked.
I can't give you any personal accounts, because the first time I tried it I took Savlia Divinorum at the same time, so I was pretty dazed all the way through.
