You should definitely seek help. Social disorders are very treatable, but you can't fight them alone. I personally have one, and until I sought treatment, I felt just like you. The fact that your family didn't listen to you may be a big part of this; sometimes the best cure for mutism is just someone who's willing to listen. At this point, you should see a psychiatrist. And join a support group; talking to other people who have the same problem as you is very helpful. And don't let anyone talk down to you for being "abnormal;" everyone is abnormal in their own way. It's normal to not be normal.
