IIN to feel like most of the people around you lack common sense?

  • This story seems worn out but for whatever reason I got a notification about a reply to my comment on this story, even though I never commented.

Might as well leave some input though- people who say things like "common sense isn't common" are usually incredibly arrogant. Yes, people do stupid things, common sense isn't very common. However, the fact that you feel the need to point it out seems to posit that you are somehow uncommon, and smarter than everyone else. Get over yourself and stop judging people. If I followed you around all day every day I'm certain I could find a lot of idiotic shit that you do so I can sharpshoot your actions too.

    • May be more challenging for you to find a lot of huge mistakes from me in one day, but that's mostly because I judge myself more harshly than I do anyone else and refuse to accept or excuse my own mistakes. Of course that has it's own draw backs, such as a heightened stress level which I would not expect others to subject themselves to.

But there does come a point when you just have to look at people and go "Seriously? you thought that was a good idea why?" and wonder just what they were thinking. When their mistakes begin to interfere with my life when I'm pushing my limits to get things done right then something's wrong. I'm not about to lower my personal standards and not meet my own expectations just because other people keep messing things up. I don't hold everyone to the same standards that I hold my self to but it'd be rather nice if their problems would stop turning into my problems because people know they can look to me to get things done the right way.
