Is it normal to feel like i need to have a drink to have a good time

I feel like on the weekends when my husband and I hang out, I have to have drinks, to open my self up, and to have a good time.. Even with people I already know... I think I'm boring and quiet if I don't have a few drinks..

Is It Normal?

  • Did you meet ur hubby drunk? Has he not seen you sober? He must like you or something, if hes still married to you, dontcha think? Unless there are other reason behind the marriage, if he loves you stone cold sober, real friends will too.

  • The fact that your concerned tells me there is reason for concern. Normal drinkers don't drink for those readons

  • Alcohol lowers mental blocades (wanted and unwanted). It's normal but be careful with consumption.

  • i used to be just like this. you should be able to be yourself around your husband. he should accept you for exactly the person you are when your sober. if he doesn't, you guys should talk to someone or try to work this out.

  • There are a lot of people like you. I however am not one of them. I don't need to drink to have a good time. Maybe ur actually unhappy and that's the only pick-me-up to make u happy in social situations?

  • Beware of those who will try to say you're an alcoholic because of this. It's normal, just so long as you aren't getting wasted, and you aren't driving drunk. You are simply using a legalized drug to get a desired effect.

  • I know exactly how you feel. You just described me. As long as it doesn't become a problem, don't worry about it.
