They cannot sue you for money you don't have and probably never will have. $10,000,000? What did he hit? A space shuttle? Unless somebody died there should rarely be over a 5 digit lawsuit. You made it sound like a little wreck. $5,000 seems like the most. I've been sued plenty of times and never have to pay much over $1,000.
Feeling bad for something somebody else did doesn't make sense either. Kids make their own decisions to fuck up regardless. There have even been serial killers who came from great families. You seem to be making a big deal out of nothing.
