If there weren't any specific rules or anything attached to the money, then grandpa obviously wanted you to spend it how ever you wished. And if grandma needs money so badly, why didn't she give her money to grandma? If she did, then good for her, that's how she used her money. I agree with Puppy here :) Although it was sort of irresponsible to spend it all in one go, it is your money in the end of the day.
