  • Because there are always problems with the heating at work we were given these thermochemical strips which act as thermometers. If it's 16°C or lower, legally we can go home (although we never do). We were given more than we need so I asked if I could have a few for home.

One is stuck to the outside of the window above my bed so I can see the outdoor temperature without even getting out of bed. One is on the bedside cabinet for similar reasons. The third is on the surface of the bath where shower water hits. They update quicker than a mercury or alcohol thermometer. As soon as it turns yellow (25°C), showering commences. Because it's on the floor of the bath, I even avoid cold feet from residual cold water.

    I <3 my thermochemicals!
