Is it normal to feel heart pain when excercising?

So I'm not the fittest person, I'm overweight and I've been trying to get into fitness recently. So I've been doing 100 jumping jacks and my heart would hurt when reaching 70 jumps mark. The pain is directly on top of my heart, so it's half a finger length to the left of my center of the chest. It would sometimes stop hurting after a minute, sometimes 5 minutes after I stop working out.

I'm 100% positive I have no heart diseases, I'm in my 20s.

So is it normal? have anyone ever excppereinced this before?

  • I experienced it when I switched my diet up. When you're just getting back into working out you have to slowly build into it. You cant just one day workout for an hour, not that I'm saying you do. Maybe take it easy and every day go a little harder.

        • Nice. Don't know much about boxing but its got the health benefits so keep training I guess. Competing is probably pretty dangerous haha. Wonder if its as bad as powerlifting.

          • Competing is very dangerous. The headaches are bad after a match and sometimes a slur your words abit afterwards too. Once I started reading about CTE and how it affects you in your 50s with dementia it spooked me out. Not trying to have dementia or ALS in my 50s especially if im not making good money in it.

            • Yeah that shits no joke, thats why I never played contact sports. Strength sports are dangeorus too but probably not as bad. I've ripped my hip flexor two seperate times squatting heavy ass weight and strained my back real bad once, as bad as that is, thats it for like 6 years of lifting like a mad man. And at least its not affecting my head or brain!

  • Heart working to hard probably because your so out of shape. But the fact that its right on your heart, means a doctor consultation is advised.

  • You need to punch yourself in the chest and try and shock it by sticking a fork in the plug socket; it's really good for the ticker.

  • You may be 100% positive you have no heart disease, but you should be aware that there are increasing numbers of seemingly fit young men having heart attacks, often when playing sport, as a result of undiagnosed symptom free congenital heart conditions.

    No chest pain should be ignored, regardless of age. See your doctor and go slow with the exercise in the meantime.
