As a black woman, I used to have the same problem with the ideas of blacks being loud, obnoxious, ignorant and unintelligent. I used to get made fun of because I love to learn have a knack for speech and love love love to be polite, proper and all the works. Was it because I wanted to be white? No, it was because I felt as if I understood those types of people more. My personality, character and identity fit into that type. So I embraced it. I've taught my kids to speak proper and to value education but my son, however, he's been changing alot over the course of years and not for the better. It's because we moved back to my home town and it's a poor city and well impoverished people think and act differently than other types. They speak differently...ETC... But honestly, it just depends on the character. That's how I used to think, not anymore. Since Ive had my fare share of trouble, I've grown to respect and understand that people are a product of their enviornment along side the sum total of their decisions. I believe we all are responsible for the choices we make and the way we choose to live our lives and how it effects people, may or may not be apologized. Would you ever apologize for your thoughts and ideals?
Is it normal to feel half racist?
