You hate yourself because you don't do anything. You need to start taking responsibility for the most important person in your life: your future self.

You aren't proud of yourself and who you are because you have nothing to be proud of. That needs to change. Otherwise, you'll continue to be miserable.
"You might say I have a lot of best friends, and not much acquaintances. I prefer quality over quantity in everything in life. I can't stand small talk either."
This is code for "I don't have good social skills". I couldn't stand tennis until I learned how to serve and return consistently. How did I get better? I trained (suffered) and improved.
That, in short, is what you must do with all aspects of your life. Being miserable is easy: do nothing. Being happy takes work.
Thank you. I appreciate your response which came like a slap in the face in a way. Can you provide with some more detail on improving social skills? Or some advice on that? Thanks in advance :)
Sure, here are three steps that should help you a great deal:
1. Learn what self-compassion is. When your inner voice is a friend and not a spiteful critic, you'll be less afraid of social "mistakes" and the stress of talking to others will fade.
2. Google this, and read it: "the four agreements filetype:pdf"
Beneath all the Mexican religious mumbo-jumbo, this book is the best guide I've found towards "not taking things personally". You'll find that once you achieve this, you are practically invincible.
3. Google this, and read it: "how to win friends and influence people filetype:pdf"
Is it normal to feel extremely irritated by myself?

Timeless advice from Dale Carnegie.
