I just decided to Google 'are people predisposed to feel revulsion at retarded people', and this link was at the top of the list. I am a fairly progressive person, yet my entire life, I shudder with revulsion whenever I see someone who is obviously retarded. I have always been ashamed of this reaction, however, I do see it as a biological response, i.e. they weaken the herd. I literally cannot look at someone who obviously has Down's Syndrome or who is retarded in other ways. Living on the Left Coast my entire life, I've felt like a total asshole because of this. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one (73% have voted 'yes, it's normal').
