Is it normal to feel depressed for missing school?

Currently I'm sick, so I've been told to stay at home for today and tomorrow. I feel depressed about it though.

I have no idea why because, like everyone else, I hate school. Even though I know I won't miss much if I don't go (no exams/important events), I still feel depressed. What do you think?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • Maybe your depressed because your ill, it's hard to feel happy when your sick.

Also, you might just be missing your friends, or having some sort of structure in your day:)

  • Hope you feel better! Missing school sucks because your friends are there, and as annoying as it can be, it's those people who get you through it.
    COMPLETELY NORMAL and WELL_ADJUSTED reaction

  • Well when I was younger like in elementary school..I fucking loved it XD But then the work started to get more stressfull so I hated it but mayby you just miss your friends and think about the homework to make up for, those were probly the only reasons why I felt felt worried about not going to school

  • I'm the same too, but I get depressed because I take school seriously and I don't want to be behind in my schoolwork.
