  • Yes, I think so. We can be unaware of our reasons at the time. What was going on subconsciously before you went to the fridge to get food? Is the subconscious involved?

There's such a thing as violent OCD. I don't know much about it, but your mention of random urges reminded me of it.

There's also an autobiography I read that was written by an extremely intelligent (academically and emotionally) girl who semi-seriously told her counselor that she "went insane for a couple of hours at a time". Sudden anger, the urge to attack someone, anyone. Her life at the time was highly stressful.

I think you're OK. If the thoughts become more intrusive, or if you start to worry that you might act on them someday, talk to a counselor. Most schools offer counseling for free. I've been there, some of my friends have been there, almost everyone has been there at some point.

    Good luck!
