One of my best friends is a person I met online four years ago, and she does know my number (She also knows my direction, and I know hers), and we have talked on the phone / webcam so many times that I don't see her as an online friend anymore, even if we haven't actually seen each other.
I waited like one year to give her my facebook / number / adress, but I do not regret it, after four years, we're still like best friends. I still keep my other friends, but it's just so nice to talk to her.
