Is it normal to fear the afterlife?

The thought of afterlife itself has always bothered me. I can't help but wonder what will happen after I die, will I be conscious or aware of who or what I am. Things along those lines.

I know it's not necessarily a normal fear, but I just want to know if I'm alone in my thinking.

Is It Normal?

  • You will find everyone there. It will be beautiful. Just don't waste your life here, there is much to be done.

  • Do you remember beforebirth? What happened when you were fast asleep and weren't dreaming? Nothingness, and there's no reason to think death is any different.

  • To be at rest; to be at peace.

One and the same, in a way. So I guess this is normal.

  • Unless you were a puppy kicking asshole the afterlife should be fine. Caveat to that would be if the deity in charge of the afterlife needs you to kick puppies for entry.

    • What if I just enjoy banging on the fence to aggravate the big ugly POS dogs next door? Am I going to spend eternity in god damnit land?

Kicking puppies? Never. They have not grown up to be big ugly dogs yet.

  • It's like pulling out a plug. Just oblivion and you will be unaware of anything. I could be wrong, but these are my views.

  • In the afterlife
You could be headed for the serious strife
Now you make the scene all day
But tomorrow there'll be Hell to pay

  • There is nothing to fear but fear itself. And spiders.
