Is it normal to fear heights?

Just a quick question...do you think it's normal to be fearful of heights? I know many people suffer from this, but I want to know if people generally consider this to be a normal feeling or not? I kind of hate being nervous going inside a building that's more than thee stories tall, for example, but I have always been this way since childhood. What do you all think?

It's a pretty rational fear as fears go.

My fear of heights is only to man made building. I was on a three story building and I shook like all hell and I was terrified...
But then... I sat on the edge of The Grand Canyon... and I was fine, I actually loved it...

If your fear is so strong that it overrides your rational thought processes, then it's a problem.

Feeling afraid if you're pushed to the edge of a 500 foot cliff is rational. Being afraid that a three story building is suddenly going to collapse is not rational.
