words aren't reality. Words are chosen to represent reality. So, when someone says to you: "I love you" it could mean alot of things to them: They really want to be with you at that moment, they feel you are perfect, they have a need to be attached to you. See? Even when we speak (Think of yourself) we don't always examine what the real meaning is... So, don't worry about the words people are using, cause they can never really encapsulate reality. Instead, there are two ways to get at the truth in life: One: Stay with what's real to you. maybe the only thing that is real to you is going for a run in the morning. Fine! If that's all you can say, yes this is real, then depend on that. Allow others to be a mystery. They are probably a mystery to themselves, so of course they will be to you! Two: When it comes to human relationships, you have to make an effort to communicate. Clarify your fears, by asking people in a way that shows you are serious, what the truth is about how they feel. It usually gets you a little closer to something true. But one thing it will never do is fix it all. Relationships are always going to be messy. Problems are always coming up. You just have to learn how to enjoy the challenge. And if they are stealing your integrity (or you are letting them) get some space away for yourself for a while.
Is it normal to fear being lied to constantly?
