I think that's why people meditate. Isolation can be a source of strenght and wisdom. But so can social interaction. Both are important and maybe you just need to find a balance.
I had to explain to my girlfriend that I just need days where I am alone. Eventhogh I love her and I love being with her I just can't be around people all the time. She was very understanding and found a comic on the internet that explained it quite well:
Basically introverts draw engergy from isolation and use it up in interaction. For extroverts it's the exact oppoiste.
So for people like us it's stressful to be around people and we need isolation to regain our strength. Whereas extroverts often need to go to a party to recover from being alone.
Here's the comic:

Cute little cartoon. My sister always leaves me feeling drained. She she vents all her garbage to me, but doesn't listen to anything I have to say. It's always a one way conversation with her.
Today she was going on and on about some negative shit, so I just acted disinterested, because to engage her just wastes my energy. I basically just answer whatever with "what do you want from me", "there's nothing I can do". She did kinda tried to put some words in my mouth at one point, I asked her, "did I say that?" She did get frustrated and end the call so I was happy.
It's sad, and I wish it was different, but it's always a one sided waste of my time, and I usually end up feel the need to eat a bunch of junk food and take a nap. I guess it's just plain draining.
I told my live in boyfriend about all of this and he pointed out that he vents to me, but I think it's different with him, because I like to think I can vent to him as well. Additionally, I feel like he respects when I set a boundary or say I need a break.
Is it normal to fantasize about isolation?
