Darwin and Einstein are recent examples of famous men who married their cousins. It was very, very common until about 100 years ago. It is a modern social norm only to frown on it.
Perhaps I am biased though, as I had a cousin with a crush on me when we were teens, and she was stunningly gorgeous. We never saw each other more than once every 3-5 years, so it wasn't like we were close enough to feel like anything more than friends. Certainly didn't feel like a "family" kind of relationship, likely due to our lack of proximity.
We never so much as held hands, or even discussed anything other than usual smalltalk. Perhaps things would have been different if kissing cousins wasn't such a taboo, who knows.
No, it's not abnormal to be attracted to someone pretty and around your age, nor for that feeling to be reciprocated. But it's not normal in this day and age to act on it, strictly speaking.

Thank fuck someone has sense but i must say, just because there is a very low chance of genetic disorder doesnt mean its fucking ok. It shouldnt even get to the stage where genetic issues are relevant. Family is family at the end of the day and no matter how faint, your blood is similar. Plus i dont think proximity matters in stabilising family relationships, i would take a bullet for each and every one of my family members, even the dickheads and i dont see them for very long periods of time.
True story. A friend of mine thought she was in love with her first cousin, and vice versa. They started having sex, she ended up pregnant. They couldn't get married ( the family was embarrassed ) but they were forced to have the baby. The child was born with 6 fingers and 6 toes and 3 kidneys. The child is developmentally delayed and has a severe cleft palet. Incest is a game the whole family can play, but please don't. Freakshow.

It's normal in Louisiana. My grandmother's parents were cousins and she developed a neuromuscular wasting disease. Can't you find anyone else.
If they are your 3rd cousin you're safe. 1st or second you'll end up having mess up kids, not to mention it's generally a bad idea to alienate yourselves from your family with incestuous choices like this.
It is normal to feel that way as it's easy to get close to a cousin but to act on it sexually is another matter so just continue the "romantic friendship" but keep it platonic.

The only real problems are, "What will the neighbors say?" and what does the law say? Genetic problems don't come from a single pairing as much as from a small gene pool. That's been seen in small communities from remote Afghan villages to some highly closed Amish groups in the U.S. There is a positive side to it: you're likely to have shared values, and that's good for a relationship.
Interracial marriages were once illegal. The current argument is over same sex marriage. But suggest two cousins marry and people have a fit.
its not normal but its sick if u actually WANT to fall in love with ur cousin. if u dont then u need to fix this problem. my cousin told me its ok to like ur family members like dat and in my i say dats weird sor u to say dat but i dont like awkward situations with both me and sum1 else so i said ok
