Is it normal to fall in love with someone ive never met in person?

I started writing one of my friends buddies in jail. and over the course of a few months ive begun to feel a serious connection. and by the way he writes me back he seems to feel the same way... is it possible to fall in love with someone thru letters and phone calls?

    Normal, but not a good idea. Same thing happened to me, I was writing a chick in jail, fell completely in love, she got out and promptly forgot about me. AMANDA YOU WHORE!!! sorry.

    i think i fell in love with someone the other night over the phone during phone sex.....and that was the first time i talked to her

    You don't have to physically meet someone to know them, or even develop romantic feelings. But what's he in jail for? Just wondering...

    This doesn't sound tremendously healthy ha I don't think It's normal. It very easy for people to put on an act over letters and phone calls.
