A while back I probably would have voted not normal but I started to develop a little bit of a crush on a character in a video game a while back, the technology has gotten so good that the graphics can provide extremely detailed character models and the character is one of the most well realised and written characters I've seen in any media form be it games, books, TV shows or films
I guess it depends on how loosely you're using the term love, personally I think a crush is normal on fictional characters, I mean my god the amount of people I knew who had a crush on the guy from the twilight books was insane but I'm really not sure about falling genuinely in love with a character like that
On first play through I thought the relationship between her and booker was well done but not so much for Elizabeth herself, she seemed fairly unrealistic, locked in a tower etc etc and other cliches and relied on a lot of stereotypical power fantasy woman as a thing to rescue, but as I progressed in the game and especially on the second play through I realised what a deceptively deep character she is, almost to the point where it seems the damsel in distress tropes were there to throw you off and make a point, in social commentary that wasn't forced, just felt natural
her character progression throughout the game was incredible, I just felt like I got to know the character more than in any other game I can think of, even in 60 plus hour games, she was just a character that really struck a chord with me
IIN to fall in love with animated female characters?
