Is it normal to fall for your best mate

My best mate and i me are really close well were really close until i started having feeling for her i told her i had these feelings but they were insigniicant but over time they have grew for her last week we had a bi argument over my sexuality and we didnt speajk for a few eeks bit now were talking again its like nothing happened artall and she dosent want me to have other relationships with girls and gets highly jealous if i hold hands or talk to other people im really worried that my feeling will hurt her again is it just a case of i need to get over it cause i think theres more to it than that cus i told her i was in a relationship not long bck single now amd she got all dissapointed and upset on me and stopped talking to me for awhile x HELP
