Is it normal to experience online love?

I feel the opposite of mtnw. Personally I think people are more honest online than they are in real life. Consider that they can easily lie, but why would they want to? If you've seen several pictures of them and talked to them on the phone then odds are they feel the same way about you. If I'm online and I tell a girl I love her, I love her, because I'm not going to get anything out of it in the immediate future, however if I tell a girl I love her in person, I'm probably drunk and want some pussy.

although you can learn alot about a person on line if they are honest, conversing with someone on line is no way near real life. it's easy to be dishonest when you aren't face to face.

i would suppose you are in love with the person in which you have created in your mind, because all you know about that person is what they have told you.

i have no idea how old you are, so i am going to mention that you must use extreme caution when you have an online relationship. an example is that every prison inmate has access to the internet, and really, you have no idea who you are talking to. never give out any personal information, such as your real name or where you live. you may be prey to a creep.

I have fallen in love online and even met the person and then been really disappointed because of my expectations from what they told me about themselves.

I think so...I've met some people on line that I truley have feelings for. But as the great mtnw said do not meet people in person without using extreme caution. There are a ton of freaks out there.

Okay I love someone I met online as well and I think yeah you can only trust that person if you've seen her/him on cam and talked with that person on phone too. I agree with buckshot why would people wanna lie about themselves online ( unless that person is a pedophile) I think loving someone online is more comfortable as you can talk anything you want and still feel comfortable .. at the end when you meet you feel like you've known this person for long.
