Is it normal to even out steps on cracks

Every time I step on a crack or line on the sidewalk with one foot I have to step on a similar step or crack with the other foot. Is it normal to do this?!

    When I was younger I did this it got to a point that I stepped an even number if steps overt time I walked/ran.

    I've done this ever since I was a little girl. It just feels right. Completely normal.
