Make sure you wash it well if you're going to eat it. By the way, some people are allergic to it. So, if you get a rash or develop blisters on your lips, seek medical attention right away.
Mangos are the best. It's a shame that I seem to be allergic to the average variety. I think that it is fine. They say that most of the fibre can be found in the skin. Happy toilet going! :)
I do eat the skin along with the mango. I didn't think it was strange until a friend mentioned it. The skin doesn't taste like anything it just makes it a bit tougher to bite into. It's good for you too.
I live in the West Indies and NOBODY ever eats the skin of mangoes, nobody.
I've never heard anybody say the skin had any nutritional value, either. Perhaps you should try the husk of a coconut, if you need roughage so much.
