I used to live next to a guy from romania, he's been a butcher for like half a century already. he does the same thing, even drinks warm blood too. if you're not used to it then you're gonna be sick, but if you're already conditioned your bowels to digest raw meet and blood it works just fine.
I wouldn't do it myself, but I think it's totally normal.
