I'd say it's only normal if you're pregnant, doing it for an eating competition or to break a record. Other than that, get help.

I know that in the UK - and the rest of the EU, I believe - the meat that goes into pet food has to have been passed as fit for human consumption, since there's always a possibility that small children will eat the stuff. The bits and pieces that people aren't interested in buying are processed to make pet food.

I've never tried it, but I suspect it isn't too tasty, since no seasonings are used. I imagine it would be like eating a very bland pate or hot-dog.
