I'm not sure if you're still being ironic? I'm unsure about this: there's some evidence high 'bad'cholesterol has nothing to do with heart attack or stroke rates and there's certainly evidence that the level at which "bad" cholesterol is set was lowered considerably back in the 70's by a US committee which had a majority of pharmaceutical companies on it.......... Hence the widespared prescription of statins to most of the over 55 population, whether or not they're at risk of heart attack or stroke and universal prescription after such events.
They're very nasty drugs, to the extent that for the last 9 months I've been (according to the experts) risking another heart attack not taking them.
Now that was a lot more than you bargained for, wasn't it?
