Is it normal to drink soda as a replacement or alcohol?

Idk man, I'm not 21 yet, but soda gives me a minor version of that sorta drunk/high feeling, so I drink Dr. Pepper instead. I won't be an alcoholic in the future, I don't need to be, but when I feel melancholy or somethin, I drink Dr. Pepper to sorta numb it a little bit. (I assume it's the caffeine and sugar that causes the effect?)

Maybe the soda is giving you a sugar high?

It probably is, but thats the opposite of alchohal which is a depressant so it doesn't make sense that it gives him a similar feeling.

Nope, it doesn't make much sense, but maybe it's psychosomatic?
