The drinking can turn into a problem but smoking is perfectly fine. I smoke at least 3-4 times a day and it helps me concentrate on my work as well as passing the time by. Obviously if you're in an area where it's illegal thats a downside but for your question i'd say normal. Thats what high school and college are for :D
