Is it normal to doze off or fall asleep during sex?

I once got back from a jog after a long day and was extremely exhausted. I needed to use the toilet before getting into the shower and so I did. At some point I started dozing off and next thing I knew I woke up with my head against the wall in front of me and a throbbing pain in my skull. Think I looked like a tilted question mark.
