Is it normal to do this after gaming?

When I am done playing my PS3 I unplug it from the wall because I'm afraid it will some how turn on and over heat. I cover my PS3 up with a towel because I'm afraid dust with wreak it. Is it normal I care about a piece of hardware this much?

I always unplug my consoles, simply because god forbid there was a power cut and even if your console is plugged into socket but switched off it still consumes power

you can save electricity when an appliance is not plugged in

also don't keep them covered, ventilation is important otherwise they may overheat

  • I just cover it when I don't use it.

  • I wouldn't cover it though, you need to keep it well ventilated.

  • It's normal, i do it too, i unplug it every night and wipe the dust off it. i just dont want to risk that it would break.
