Is it normal to do this?

When I'm laying in bed at night trying to sleep, my thoughts are pretty constant. Normally, they don't end until I find some sort of solution to the problem or situation my mind is thinking about.

Recently, I've been putting someone else into the thought process in my mind. So there's me, and another person, I guess me also. I don't INTENTIONALLY have these conversations but when my mind goes on a roll about something, it throws in another person to keep it going. I have only recently noticed.

It's always someone that I feel I should say the things that I think to. I feel like it sounds weird. but I also feel like it's a way to sort of cope with what goes through my mind.

Pretty creative. Another thing that works is see yourself as your parent in the situation. What would you advise ? That works

Heck I do this with problems during the day. I might have different solutions or perspectives to a problem that are represented by different people in my head. Also placing people in hypothetical situations is completely normal. It's one of the things that make humans unique.

    • Well I try to imagine what I think this other person would say. It's never just ME I'm talking to, I give an opinion based off of what I believe someone would say to my given situation. I don't talk to myself, what do you think I am, crazy? ;)
