Is it normal to do a fast (eat no food) because it feels good?

I go about one day and that's it, I have to eat something small at that point, typically I go for apples. I won't really have an appetite after the first day. I feel really GOOD. It's like being completely free :-) I was expecting to be light headed or weak. Nope.

Anyone do this?

How did you feel?

How long do you go without solid food?

Do you drink sugars and salts (electrolytes) after the first day, perhaps?

Ahhhh, I'm in the midst of day two on this fast and I feel good. I'll eat whenever I feel like it.

      This. I have more energy.

But, but, my limit is 48 hrs. After that, I am like please feed me, please, lol. But, I won't really have much of an appetite. I just crave simple fruits at first.

The bad thing for me about a fast is that my guts obviously, stop moving. It's known as peristalsis activity. It ceases. That, for me isn't good. Ooooooh, if you all must know, the constipation that lasts for two days post-fast, is why I don't do this often. I end up taking 1/4 cup of flaxseed oil to get things going again.

I have no reason to do a fast other than seeking to feel good.

Yeah. Your insides slow down by a lot. Drinking lots of water during and after a fast helps somewhat. Also taking a magnesium supplement will clear your bowels decently.

Yeah, true. I love these magnesium drinks :-) I get this brand called Calm in the raspberry flavor.

I have never tried the drinks. I take magnesium malate caplets. They seem to help with anxiety too.

I've been doing this as well to cut for the summer, can't stress just how easy it makes dieting. Skip breakfast, 200 calorie lunch snack, huge dinner.

Man was meant to fast at day and feast at night.

You're not pro anorexia, you're pro crash dieting which is extremely unhealthy. People like you make a mockery of people who suffer from actual eating disorders. Do some research on what you're actually doing to your body.

well it depends if you're a women you need about 2000 calories a day and the younger you are the more calories you need. fasts aren't beneficial to your health all in all, so if you are fasting I would recommend drinking certain drinks that you can get the nutrition and calories you need. I think it's normal to fast though, as long as you are getting the calories and nutrition needed.
