Is it normal to dispise ones own mother?

ALL MY LIFE, even since I was very young, I have had huge (verbal) fights and arguments, and battles with my mother. I understand all parents are naturally annoying or worse by nature, but my mom is not your average nutcase. I have come to a conclusion that we will never agree on anything. Normal?

  • Sometimes a good relationship is not possible. My mother is a nut case who yells at you for everything and anything and just blames me for everything no matter what. If you try and talk she just gets upset, she makes me look like the bad one and then continues to verbally abuse me at home. You just have to deal with it and move out ASAP! And no, you probably won't agree on anything. If I disagreed with my mother, at best she would yell and insult me. I won't go into further details, but the best way to do it is pretend to agree even if you don't. That is extremely hard for me because I am very opinionated and I know when I'm right, so it was a pain. Just try and deal with it the best you can, and never be in a bad mood around her and disagree. Just nod your head and say you understand. That is the best advice I can give, but that was my mother, I don't know if yours is like that as well.

  • It really depends on a couple of factors:
    1. Son or Daughter??
    2. About how old are you?
    3. Siblings/how many and are you the oldest?
    4. Are your parents divorced?

It is very normal for you to have those feelings, but you need to find the reason why and understand it. If/when you do you and your mom could poosibly have a good relationship.

  • hey i know u may hate me for saying this but really u shouldnt fight or hate your mother. eventhough shes mean or what. explain to me what she did that annoys you so much. but anyway u cud show that u are sad rather than being mad. cause after all, she is your mother. the one who gave life to you.
