Is it normal to dislike turtle neck sweaters on men?
And any form of long sock, but turtlenecks on any guy over 10 years looks...well terrible. Does anyone agree and is it normal to have feelings about this?

When I was young, my family didn't have enough money for new clothes so everything I had was either home-made or came from a network of hand-me-downs (which was like playing pass-the-parcel knowing the thing in the parcel was not a desirable item of clothing but instead a fashion faux pas of thermonuclear proportions).
The orange turtleneck was the booby prize and boy did I win it. Not only that but I didn't realise the neck was supposed to be folded. I left it as it was and the thing tapered outwards like a vase, all the way up to my chin. It looked like a venus fly trap, eating my head.
There is a photograph of me, aged about seven, wearing hand-made crimson corduroy trousers with legs of different lengths (and a pocket on the knee), the orange turtleneck (in vase configuration) and a green jerkin. Yes, a jerkin! Yes, green!
In the red, orange and green, it's difficult to tell whether I am Salvador Dali's interpretation of traffic lights, an explosion in a paint factory, or the vomit left by someone who has just eaten a pizza after a bottle of vodka.
What is not difficult to tell is that I will not knowingly wear a turtleneck for the rest of my natural life.
It depends! Turtlenecks are a classic clothing item like jeans or khaki pants, and they never truly go out of style. However, it depends on the person as to whether or not they look attractive in turtlenecks. I would say that most people don't look attractive in turtlenecks. On the other hand, men and women who are blessed with a tall and slender figure, and have long necks and long faces, tend to look very attractive in turtlenecks. Also, I've heard it said that blonds look better in turtlenecks than anyone else, but I don't necessarily believe that. I've been told by a number of people that I'm a rare type of man, and that turtlenecks look very becoming on me. I happen to have a slender build, a long face, and a bery long neck for a man. I wear a lot of turtlenecks because I've gotten a lot of compliments from a number of people who say that turtlenecks are very attractive on me.
